Crown offers around-the-clock activity and excitement. At the centre of the complex, Crown Casino is the largest
and most dazzling gaming facility in the Southern Hemisphere. The main gaming floor, stretching for more than
half a kilometre, has 350 gaming tables and 2500 gaming machines offering an amazing variety of choice in one
of Australia’s most sophisticated and vibrant settings.
The western end of the Complex includes nightclubs, a 900-seat cabaret venue – The Palms at Crown,
Australia’s largest interactive multimedia entertainment arcade – Galactic Circus and the 14-cinema Village
Roadshow Complex which includes the world’s first Gold Class cinemas. Each of the four Gold Class theatres
include 28 luxurious recliners and table service offering a wide range of food and beverage options to enjoy
during screenings.
Crown Entertainment Complex also incorporates 6500 square metres of exclusive retailing over two levels along
the Crown Riverside. Thirty-four stores offer the finest collection of international signature designers in the
Southern Hemisphere. Many are Melbourne firsts, including Versace, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and La
Perla.
In 2002, the Crown Entertainment Complex was voted Victoria’s Major Tourist Attraction. Credit is due to the
extensive special effects throughout the Complex. The five-storey marble Crown Atrium features the 90-minute
continuous “Four Seasons” sound and light show with music recorded by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Three Australian composers, Chong Lim, David Hirschfelder and Guy Gross created the musical score based on
the theme of Melbourne’s “four seasons in a day”.
Throughout the year and to coincide with special events, the Crown Atrium is transformed by visual displays that
are free for the public to view and include the highly popular Crown Christmas Spectacular; The Emperor-dragon
display during Chinese New Year and Floral Fantasy.
Other features include the 60-metre long Celebration Fountain at the western end of the Complex, the southern
porte cochere fountain and the interactive Revelry Fountain on the Riverside. These fountains are operated only
when water restrictions are not enforced.
A grand spectacle each night are Crown’s Fire Towers. Each night, eight rectangular columns, 10 metres high
and at 50 metre intervals lining the 500-metre riverside along the Yarra River, will erupt into 10 metre fireballs,
lighting up the Melbourne sky.
Crown also supports local and Australian artists and commissioned thousands of original works of art in a variety
of media now housed in the Complex and in both hotels. Crown’s art collection is valued at over $7.5 million with
an emphasis on Victorian artists.
The Crown Entertainment Complex is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
